Is there a common way these usually fail? I did read about the brushes getting stuck and being able to clean them out, but I went ahead and ordered two new oem fans from boraparts. Hopefully that'll fix it. From my experience the fans should start spinning in low a couple seconds after the AC is turned on.

    The fans should spin freely by hand. If not you may have broken the plastic frame the fans mount to or the plastic frame the radiators mount to. The fan control relay is incorporated in the back of the V7 fan and is powered off a fuse just to the right of the battery. On my Golf it is labeled E. You should get 12 V at the wire connected to E. The fuse itself is hidden so you have to measure voltage. In my case I had a blown fuse.

    Well, today with the engine completely cold I futzed around with the fans a bit more and a good hard turn got them both loose, and now they work!

    Cleared all the codes took it for a good test drive changing the settings on the ac, rescanned and no codes. So I'm going to call it fixed for now. Not sure how they got jammed, but I did see that one of the rubber flaps at the top of the radiator was missing so maybe that had something to do with it. I'll watch the fans closely to make sure they continue working.

    I logged the first 12 values from Advanced Measuring Values. Again, thank you guys, if this doesn't work I just buy a new compressor and hopefully that will fix the problem. Look for the belt pulley overload protectionmaybe the Compressor is blocked. Otherwise look in the AMV for pressure in the system. Checked if the compressor was blocked, it was spinning so I guess it's ok.

    A little bit low, but I am not an expert. But an additional scan revealed what the problem might be, check it out please. Please start the Basic Settings for module 08 an than post an auto scan.
